Pretty colors, great sketch, a wee bit of watercoloring and what you do you get? A clean and simple birthday card. It's an easy card to make which is something I'm thankful for as a headache does not allow for long periods of creativity.
My card was made for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge and the Color Throwdown Challenge.
Stamp Set: Avant Garden (sentiment); Ink: Pool Party; Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Watercolor Paper; Other: Blushing Bride Fancy Frost Sequins, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies

Pretty Shaker Butterflies
It's Saturday night and I'm in the middle of a Downton Abbey marathon but I wanted to take time to share this fun shaker card with you. This is one that I made at the shaker card class I took last fall at the 2016 Stamp Joy Event. I fell in love with shaker cards and have made several since. I don't know the names of the product used but I love the colors but I wanted to share it with you as I think it's a very pretty shaker card.

Happy Birthday Wishes
Flowers. What can I say? I love flowers! Which is only one reason why I wanted to play along with The Paper Players Challenge. Another reason was to share the Avant Garden stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. It is a favorite and is free with a $50 order.
My card base is made using Whisper White Thick cardstock. The center square is cut from Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. The main flower is stamped in Wisteria Wonder ink and the leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped off the other flowers to give a softer look as well as the leaves. The center of the flower and the sentiment were stamped using Early Espresso ink. The stitched square was added to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
And there you have it. Another pretty flower card added to my stash of birthday cards. I never seem to have enough of them.
My inspiration for my cards comes for The Paper Players Challenge. For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Let It Snow
One of my favorite challenges is the Retro Rubber Challenge. It gives me the chance to use my older stamps that tend to get neglected as new ones are acquired. Once again, blue is my preference for making a card all about snow.
My card base is Soft Sky with an embossed layer of Soft Sky. The embossing folder used is Snow Flurries by Tim Holtz. It's and older one, too. I sprayed Radiant Rain Shimmering ICE Mist over the embossed layer and while it dried, I made the label. The stamp set I used is the 2010 Complements of the Season by Waltzing Mouse. I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes in Night of Navy onto Whisper White cardstock then, punched out the sentiment using the Decorative Label Punch. Behind the label, I added a few strands of the Copper Metallic Thread. Both the embossed layer and the label were attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.
And, there you have it. A clean and simple card all about snow. I'm not sure those who live north of me will appreciate it as they are under weather advisories. I'm not sure what is suppose to hit my area. I'm hoping very little in the way of snow. ☺
The theme I used is from the Retro Rubber Challenge. For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Simple Little Valentine
With Valentine's Day just a few weeks away, I've been getting busy and making cards for family and friends. Here is a very simple but pretty card that is quick and easy to make. I tend to use non-traditional colors but this would be very pretty in red and white.
Stamp Set: Butterfly Basics, Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Inks: Night of Navy, Sweet Sugarplum; Cardstock: Whisper White
My card has been entered in the Stampin' Royalty Challenge. For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Wish Big
So, there you have it, another of the many birthday cards I need for this coming year. I never seem to have enough of them but I do love creating more. Today I've combined the Just Us Girls color challenge with the Addicted to CAS code word wish challenge to make this happy balloon card.
What you can't see well in the photo is that the stars and the word, wish, are all a bit sparkly from the Clear Wink of Stella Brush I used. It never shows up well but looks quite nice on the card itself.
Stamp Set: Wish Big Stamp & Die Combo; Inks: Basic Black Archival, Night of Navy, Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate; Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Whisper White Thick; Other: Wish Big Stamp & Die Combo, Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate, Clear Wink of Stella Brush
The colors I used are from the Just Us Girls Challenge. For all their challenge details, click the images below.

Birthday Bloom
Time is short but I wanted to share this simple card with you. Over the next few months there are several birthdays coming up for which I need cards. This one was made using the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-A-Bration. I first stamped the flower in Watermelon Wonder. Then, I stamped over that image with Flirty Flamingo. They are close to the same with one being lighter than the other but there really are two colors to the flower. 😊 The sentiment is stamped in Island Indigo.
Stamp Set: Avant Garden; Inks: Flirty Flamingo, Island Indigo, Watermelon Wonder; Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Whisper White Thick; Other: Pearl Basic Jewels
My card has been entered in the following challenges, CAS Colours & Sketches and Freshly Made Sketches. For all their challenge details, click the images below.

Snowflakes
Christmas may have come and gone but it's never too early to start making the cards you'll need for this year. I love sending out Christmas cards so today I have the first one of the new year to share with you.
First, I heat embossed the snowflakes in white onto Vellum. Then, I used my Copic markers and colored the back of each snowflake using a different shade of blue. Each snowflake has been punched out, then glued to the Shimmery White background. Although it is hard to see in the photo, there is a watercolor wash of Soft Sky that is behind the snowflakes. Next time I think I'll have to go darker so it shows up better.
Stamp Set: Flurry of Wishes; Ink: Soft Sky; Copic Sketch Markers: B00, B02, B05; Cardstock: Shimmery White, Vellum, Whisper White; Other: White Embossing Powder, Snowflake Punch, Flower Medallion Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
The theme I used is from the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge. For all the challenge details, click the image below.
The sketch I used is from the Sunday Stamps Challenge. For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Wacky Watercooler January Mini Hop Number Two
Welcome to our January Mini Blog Hop Number Two. Each month, on the third Thursday of the month, a group of us get together to hop and share projects from Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs. It's always a lot of fun. This is our second hop for the month as we wanted showcase the new Occasions Catalog and the new Sale-A-Bration Catalog.
You should be coming to my blog from Lisa Kmiec. After your visit with me, head on over to Jayme Ziemer. And, as always, our Hop runs in a circle. Whether you start at the top and go forward or start at the bottom and go backward, you will always wind up where you started.
For this hop, I used two of my newest stamp sets, Beautiful You and Avant Garden. Beautiful You is from the 2017 Occasions Catalog. I think it's going to be a very popular stamp set and one of my favorites. Avant Garden is from Sale-A-Bration. It's one of the free stamp sets you get when you place a $50 order. And, for both projects, I used the new Watercolor Pencils also found in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.
For my first card, I used the Beautiful You stamp set which is found in the 2017 Occasions Catalog. I love the images and sentiments in this stamp set. For my colors, I chose are Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight. All of these colors come in the new Watercolor Pencils set. I can see hours of fun ahead of me.
Stamp Set: Beautiful You; Inks: Basic Black Archival, VersaMark; Watercolor Pencils: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry; Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Watercolor Paper; Patterned Paper: Serene Scenery; Other: Aqua Painter, Black Embossing Powder, Fancy Frost Sequins, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon
For my second project, I used the Avant Garden stamp set. It's one of the free sets offered during Sale-A-Bration when you place a $50 order. I love this flower image that is in the set. I used the Old Olive and Real Red Watercolor Pencils and blurred outside the lines of the image. The sentiment I used is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
Stamp Sets: Avant Garden, Rose Wonder (sentiments); Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento, Dapper Denim; Watercolor Pencils: Old Olive, Real Red; Cardstock: Dapper Denim, Shimmery White, Whisper White Thick; Other: Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, Seaside Embossing Folder, Frosted Sequins, Pearl Basic Jewels, Linen Thread
That is all from me. The next stop on your tour is Jayme Ziemer. To see her wonderful projects, click the image below.

You Are My Sunshine
Today finds me combining two more of my favorite challenges; The Paper Players Challenge and the What Will You Stamp? Challenge. At first I wasn't sure what color to use for my "any one color," but I think the Daffodil Delight did the job well. And, as you can see, I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies along with a sentiment from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.
This is another of the note cards I like to make and keep on hand. Whenever I think of someone, I grab a note card and write a short note just to let them know I'm thinking of them. I think this one will go to my youngest granddaughter. I don't get to spend as much time with her as I'd like so sending her a card now and then is a good way to let her know Grandma loves her.
Stamp Set: Sunshine Sayings; Ink: Basic Black Archival; Card Stock: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Whisper White Thick; Other: Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, Clear Wink of Stella Brush, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #102
It won't be long and Valentine's Day will be upon us. With eleven grandchildren, I need to get busy. Even the big kids love to get cards from Grandma. This is the first of those eleven.
It's a Clean and Simple challenge this week. Libby is hosting and has given us the theme of Love using red on white. I think it makes for a pretty card even though I'm usually one who does more nontraditional colors. I really like the way this one turned out.
Stamp Set: Heart Balloons (My Favorite Things); Ink: Red; Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Whisper White Think; Other: Heart Balloons Dies, Staggered Heart Border Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
For all the challenge details and to share your project, visit Watercooler Wednesday Challenges by clicking the image below. We'd love to have you join us. You have until Monday, January 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Central Time to link your project.

Hello
Today is another rainy, gloomy day here in Iowa. What better way to spend the day than making a bright, cheerful card full of flowers. I'm ready for Spring, can you tell?
For my card I combined the colors from The Flower Challenge and the all over stamping trend from Just Us Girls. I don't know about you, but flowers always cheer me up.
Stamp Set: Bloomin' Birthday Stamp & Die Combo (Taylored Expressions), Triple Leaf Stamp (Taylored Expressions); Inks: Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Pacific Point, Soft Sky; Cardstock: Whisper White, Whisper White Thick; Other: Hello Die (Taylored Expressions), Pearl Basic Jewels

You Make Me Smile
One of the things I have discovered I love, is water-coloring. I was dabbling in it last fall but once I took the watercolor class at the 2016 Stamp Joy event in October, I was hooked. This is one of the cards I did in class. It's a very simple design but so effective in combining different colors. With all the thank you cards I need, I think this one is perfect to send to my oldest son, who hosted the family Christmas last year.
I've entered my card in the "anything goes" challenge from The Male Room. For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Beautiful You in an Orange Hat
Today a friend treated me to lunch at the Outback Restaurant. As a thank you, I made this 2017 calendar for her. Orange is her favorite and being the redhead that she is, the color just doesn't look well on her. Whenever I make her a gift or design her birthday card, I always try to incorporate orange into the project. For this one, it's all about the hat. I stamped an image from the Beautiful You stamp set and used an Orange Wink of Stella Brush to give the hat some color and just a wee bit of sparkle.
Stamp Sets: Beautiful You, Sunshine Sayings (sentiment); Patterned Paper: Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack; Other: 2017 Calendar (Taylored Expressions), Orange Wink of Stella Brush
My project has been entered in the Stampotique Designers Challenge. It's a new challenge for me. For all the challenge details, click the image below.

WWC101 - Jean's Color Challenge
Well, I think I've finally recovered from all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and can look forward to what 2017 has in store for me. It's time to get back into the swing of things and what better way than to have a new color challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges. I was ready for some springlike color and these fit the bill.

One More Year
One of the gifts I make each year for my daughters-in-law are new calendars. This year I was especially excited as I was able to bind the calendars. My oldest son gave me a Cinch Book Binding Tool for my birthday and I love it!
So, back to my project for today. I made three calendars using Graphic 45 patterned papers to decorate the calendar pages. The calendar was printed on Very Vanilla cardstock Stampin' Up!® What you can't see is the easel I put on the back of each so they would stand on their own. I have a Tim Holtz Small Easel Die and it works great for those projects you want to stand alone.
This week Just Us Girls is having a word challenge and that word is "new." What better way to demonstrate the word than a "new" calendar for the "new" year. My girls loved them.
Stamp Sets: Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Petal Potpourri (retired), Sunshine Sayings; Inks: Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Perfect Plum, Real Red, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi; Cardstock: Very Vanilla; Patterned Paper: Graphic 45 Botanical Tea, Place in Time, Time to Flourish; Other: Flower Medallion Punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

Wacky Watercooler January Mini Hop Number One
Welcome to the our January Mini Blog Hop Number One. Each month, on the third Thursday of the month, a group of us get together to hop and share projects from Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs. It's always a lot of fun. This month we are doing a two mini hops to showcase the new Occasions Catalog and the new Sale-A-Bration Catalog.
You should be coming to my blog from Jean Fitch. After your visit with me, head on over to Marie Green. That brings you full circle. And, as always, our Hop runs in a circle. Whether you start at the top and go forward or start at the bottom and go backward, you will always wind up where you started.
With all that has been happening since I got back from my holiday trip to Reno, Nevada, I only had time to create one project to share using the new High Tide stamp set found in the new 2017 Occasions Catalog. It's a quick and easy card to put together even with fussy cutting the lighthouse. I think it is going to be a very versatile stamp set.
Stamp Set: High Tide; Inks: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Old Olive, Pool Party; Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Whisper White Thick
Marie Green is your next stop on your tour. To see her wonderful projects, click the image below.
