Wacky Watercooler April 2016 Blog Hop

Hello!  I'm so glad you could make it to our Wacky Watercooler April Blog Hop.  We are focusing on the 2014-2016 In Colors which will be retiring at the end of May.  I'm truly going to be said to see them go.  They are some of my favorites.  We are also CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) a fellow hopper.  My draw was Jean Fitch.  I decided to to CASE two of her designs.

The first CASE is of a card Jean made for the Watercooler Wednesday Challenges.  It's was make for a recent color challenge.  I loved her design but don't have the stamp set she used so I substituted the In the Meadow stamp set.  I used Hello Honey for the card base.  On the Whisper White layer, I stamped the grass and flowers in Mossy Meadow.  The cute little butterflies are stamped using Lost Lagoon ink.  For the flower, I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower and punched it out of Hello Honey.  I added a Pearl Basic Jewel to the center of the flower.  The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set and stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink.  The bigger butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri and was stamped in Blackberry Bliss and punched using the Bitty Butterfly Punch

For my second CASE, I chose another one that was done for the Watercooler Wednesday Challenges.  It's all about Mother's Day flowers.  With Mother's Day not far off, it was a perfect time to make one of the cards I'll need to send to one of my daughters-in-law.  The verse is so appropriate for Jody as she is the mother of three active boys and they do keep her on the go.

While I did include most of the elements of her card, I did make a few changes to make it my own.  For the card base I used Sahara Sand card stock.  I stamped the background onto Crumb Cake card stock.  It's from the retired Build a Bouquet stamp set and was stamped using Early Espresso ink.

For the label, I used Tangelo Twist and stamped the sentiment from the Trust God stamp set in Tangelo Twist.  I cut it out using the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies.  The flowers are cut using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  The cardstock I used for them are Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey.  I added a stem of Mossy Meadow under all the leaves and flowers that is also cut from the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  The leaves are cut from Pear Pizzazz using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  The images stamped on the leaves are from the Botanical Blooms stamp set and stamped using Wild Wasabi ink.  The butterflies are punched out of Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  To each butterfly I added a row of Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

While going through some craft supplies, I found the retired In Color Accessory Pack in the 2014-2016 In Colors.  I added some of the Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist Buttons to the flowers.  On the label I added a twist of Mossy Meadow Thick Baker's Twine and Tangelo Twist Thick Baker's Twine.

  1. Marsha, those are both great samples to CASE! And your versions are awesome. Love that you have the Build A Bouquet stamp set - I'm keeping it and the die also.

  2. Hi Marsha, I see you're getting a lot of mileage out of the In the Meadow set and am so glad it has carried into the new catalogue. The way those flowers worked out along the lower edge of the card is perfect! Love your CASEd version of Jean's card, especially those sweet little Lost Lagoon butterflies. Love the second CASE as well and got a chuckle out of it being a CASE of Jean's card which was a CASE of Nicole Tugrul's card. It just keeps happening. We all inspire each other, don't we? I have to say, you used the retiring In-Colors brilliantly in that card. Thanks for being part of our crazy April Blog Hop.

  4. What wonderful CASE projects! I love the little blue butterflies on your first card. I have In the Meadows, so how did I miss those butterflies? Now I have to get that set out and play with it! Your use of the Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon colors for your flowers is stunning. Such a "happy" CASE! Don't we just love all the inspiration we have from our stamping family!

  6. Well line me up with the others "that missed", those sweet little butterflies. I love both your and Jean's versions on these cheery little cards. You're right they would be terrific for Mother's day. I also love the colour combination you used and the layout of your flowers on the Botanical Gardens card. I'm not a big fan of the Tangelo twist but I really like how you've used splashes of that colour for the button flower centers and for the sentiment. I feel a CASE coming on too! Thanks for sharing your wonderful talents Priscilla, you always wow me!

    1. Thanks, Penny! Those In Colors all look so well together. Orange is not a color I use often but I rather like the Tangelo Twist.
